My powere steering is chirping when i try and turn at low speeds ,how do i take off the power sterring pump?

i was thinking it was the belt at first cause its frayed but i didnt think that should have caused that chirping problem,so im looking to drain it change the belt and see if that works firstMy powere steering is chirping when i try and turn at low speeds ,how do i take off the power sterring pump?
it probably is the belt. try spraying the belt with a silicone spray or a belt dressing before you go pulling off the belt or the pump; if the chirp stops its only the belt. make sure the pump reservoir is filled to the full mark.

i seriously doubt its the pump. pumps groan when they fail. if you want to drain the power steering pump, disconnect the low pressure return hose from the reservoir and put it into a suitable container such as a 2 liter soda bottle. then have someone start the engine while you hold the hose in the container. have them shut the engine off after about 10 seconds (the reservoir should be empty by then). then reconnect the hose and refill the reservoir. bleed the power steering by running the engine and turning the wheel full lock to one side and hold it there, then turn it to full lock in the opposite direction and hold it there. do this about 3 times then correct the level in the reservoir.

as I said, I agree with you that its probably the belt and not the pump

hope that helps
